- A little road trip to Bella Rustica! (2)
I started following the Funky Junk Interiors page on FaceBook a while back and noticed a couple of weeks ago that she was posting about a show called Bella Rustica. I checked it out and found out that it was practically in my own backyard. I rounded up some girlfriends and we set off today for Bella Rustica at Mars Farm, Pulaski, TN. We traveled by way of Fayetteville, TN and an estate sale there.
I saw tons of Blenko glass at the estate sale and found some silk and doilies to bring home. Then off to the barn at Mars Farm. This is a huge barn and it was full to overflowing with wonderful finds. There were tons of beautiful clothes, jewelry, cowboy boots, and other accessories. Did you know that bloomers for women are extremely popular? These were long loose pants with a ruffle at the hem. Too cute! My friends each bought a pair in linen. They look like they will be comfy and cute. I don’t know about you but those are definitely two things I like to find together! There was a lot lace and ruffles to be seen for sure.
Other things that caught my eye were antique bobbins and spools, ornaments from baby shoes, gorgeous painted furniture, iron pieces, appliqued crosses on t-shirts, painted signs with scripture verses, burlap flowers and beautiful wreaths. It was a feast for the senses.
I should mention that all of the senses were treated today! They had great music from the Nashvegas Ramblers. We enjoyed terrific bbq sandwiches and chess pie.
This great event was also a fundraiser for the Agape charity which supports adoption. I happily paid my $6 to attend this and will be putting this on my radar for next year too. It is a must see in my opinion. Thanks to my friend C for driving us all and A and C for being game for this trip.
- Freshening Up! (0)
The spray paint gnomes have been hard at work! This is going next to my computer to be the printer stand. I’m loving the color and I’m anxious to get my new curtains up in the same room. I’ve had the same dark gold curtains with a red/gold/green valence for years. I switched out the matching valence over the kitchen sink to a white one with yellow ric-rac and it has made a huge difference in how bright the room is! I love it! With wood paneling on the walls, we need all the light we can get!
Maybe it’s a way of letting light into a lot of places in my life…. Something to ponder there.
- Sneak Peek! (2)
This is the start of a placemat set that I am working on. I love this fabric. It is Alice Kennedy’s Lemon Grove. The backing is something I found at JoAnn Fabric and I’m not sure of the name. Stay tuned to see the finished set!

I took it to B & N last night to verify that it fits. It does!

I offered to make a custom case for a tablet / reader at the GFWC Legacy auction. The winning bidder chose this fabric for her Nook Case. This is in the middle of quilting one side. It’s all done now except for the button!
